Readers, if you’ve got a truckload of Twitter followers but don’t know what to do with them, here’s an idea: cash ’em in.
That’s the idea behind SocialLadder.
A mobile app from local startup RKI Apps that was presented at July’s Philly Tech Meetup, SocialLadder aims to connect businesses with influential customers by rating a customer’s reach, using social media stats and other factors, and allowing businesses to offer deals to the most “valuable” ones.
RKI Apps launched an updated version of the iOS app today. Previously, the app only offered deals from bars and restaurants, but now you can find deals from retail stores, hotels and other types of businesses. SocialLadder features deals from local businesses like Zee Bar, Manayunk Brewing Company and Mac’s Tavern.
RKI Apps was founded by David Everitt and Samer Allabadi.
Everitt, 32, grew up in Mayfair in Northeast Philadelphia, attended West Chester University and worked in bars for most of his life. This is his first startup. He currently lives in Fairmount.
Originally from Jordan, Allabadi is the former Director of Global Operations at IMS Health, an information and tech provider for the healthcare industry. He got his MBA from Temple University.
The team currently works from home.
Updated 8/30/12 11:33 a.m. to add names of local businesses that work with SocialLadder.
