The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership hires Camille Hoisington as its director of network.

Hoisington is back in the Brooklyn tech world after the abrupt shuttering of incubator 1776NY, where she’d been the program director. Now she’ll take over at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership in more or less the position opened up when Andrew Kalish left last month.

“As a proud Brooklynite I have been an admirer of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership for quite some time,” Hoisington wrote in an email. “My goal will be to cohesively bring together the Brooklyn Tech Triangle community of startups and entrepreneurs, together with Brooklyn’s higher education institutes, and continue to spearhead the Make It In Brooklyn initiatives.”

On the heels of a massive $40 million Series C funding round, Brooklyn coliving startup Common looks to be hiring a lot. One of its first orders of business is director of sales, and that’s where Rodriguez comes in. The Harvard grad comes to Common from previous roles at Facebook and Dropbox.


“Over the last few years, it’s become more challenging to find attractive housing at a manageable cost,” Rodriguez explained by email. “Common provides housing options that will change the way that people think about city living. I’m excited to be along for the ride helping to effectively scale our Sales team and processes.”

Jenny Wall comes to Gimlet Media to be chief marketing officer.

This is a big get for the Downtown Brooklyn podcasters. Wall has been the head of marketing for Hulu for the past three years and was a vice president of marketing at Netflix before that. Gimlet’s a multimedia storytelling brand, not just a podcast network, she tells FastCo.
