Philadelphia City Council‘s legislation website got a little facelift last month.
The site, updated by San Francisco-based government content platform Granicus, is a searchable database of City Council bills. The new look is a bit sleeker (it used to look like this), and Philadelphia Public Interest Information Network (now Axis Philly) developer Casey Thomas said the search function seems to be improved. The new site is hosted on the cloud, instead of the city’s server, said City Council spokeswoman Jane Roh. Roh said Council updated the site to make it more functional, and so far, it’s been exactly that.
It also shows an evolution in Council priorities. Councilmatic, the years-in-the-making Council legislation search tool from Mjumbe Poe, might have helped show what’s possible.
