Here’s to making city parking a bit more painless.
Philly’s Parkway Corporation recently started using ParkMobile, a mobile payment app that alerts you when your meter has almost run out, Newsworks reports.
Download the app here.
You can use the app, built by an Atlanta-based company, in 11 Parkway lots around the city (check out this Newsworks map to see the locations). Newsworks reports that Parkway plans to implement app capabilities in more lots in the near future.
As for the Philadelphia Parking Authority, the agency might be on the forefront of social media but it won’t be implementing an app any time soon. A PPA spokeswoman tells Newsworks it’s looking into a mobile payment system, but it’s still very early in the process.
