The customizable bike bell, MyBell, took its crowdfunding campaign live on Monday. The team is working to raise $90,000, and, as of this writing, has raised more than $12,000 from 117 backers.
Pre-order a MyBell for $99We met MyBell’s creator, Peter Pottier, at our first Brooklyn Tech Meetup at Brooklyn Law School. Since then, the device has made a lot of progress, evolving into a system with both sounds and lights. Where previously the device attached to a semi-permanent platform, it’s now built to be strapped on to a bike.
Here’s a photo from MyBell’s website showing some of the product’s iterations:
We reported on the project last year and its plans to seek crowdfunding in the fall, but it took a bit longer to get there, which is not unusual for hardware projects.
