The immersive film company Interlude will be at the Made in NY Media Center Tuesday night for a tutorial on interactive film creation. Check out Magnified: Interlude on How to Create Your Own Interactive Film.
“What if you could create a film where viewers can decide what happens next?” the event invitation asks. “How would this change your approach to storytelling?”
For one, according to Interlude, interactive video is shared three times more than regular video.
With interactive video, viewers are asked to make choices for what happens next. Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen made her “Run Away With Me” music video with Interlude. The narrative of the video is modeled around a text message. “Where in the world are you?” the video asks in text message form. An American flag emoji, French flag emoji and Japanese flag emoji appear. If you click the American flag, there you are in the next scene on the promenade, with Manhattan in the background. And it goes on with different options throughout the video.
The event costs $10 and tickets are still available. The Made in NY Media Center is located in Dumbo on 30 John St.
