Launched last year, the design and architecture-focused news site is hoping to raise at least $15,000 by Dec. 4. That’s only a portion of the roughly $100,000 that co-editor Nathaniel Popkin said it takes to run the project.

Here’s more from Popkin on the vision for Hidden City Daily:

The idea has been to create a smart, interesting, and insightful place to think and learn about the evolving city, particularly in the areas of architecture and design, historic preservation, public space, planning, and landscape architecture. The project has been more successful than we had even hoped–and now, with some 50 writers and photographers as contributors, it’s at the center of the conversation about Philadelphia’s future.

The site was previously grant-funded. Read more about the Hidden City Daily model here.
