It’s a brave new world.
After almost 40 years as a brick and mortar store, King of Prussia flooring company Floors USA launched an online store earlier this summer. It’s part of the region’s ecommerce uptick.
Floors USA now offers more than 75,000 rugs on its site, designed and run by local firm TACT eCommerce. Floors USA CEO Scott Erlbaum says it was a “natural extension of the business.” He declined to provide numbers on sales but says the response has been great and he’s “extremely encouraged.”
Floors USA has a staff of over 30 employees and Erlbaum says he plans to add more to handle the ecommerce side of things. Other than that, he says the ecommerce push hasn’t changed much of the store’s day-to-day operations.
Erlbaum, 41, used to be a stock broker but joined the family flooring business in 2001. He lives in Lafayette Hill and is a weekend sports radio show host on 97.5 FM The Fanatic.
