Did you hear that, Philadelphia?
That’s the sound of your summer slowly circling the drain, but don’t dispair. Here at TP, fall means our calendar begins to be packed with can’t-miss meetips and conferences all over the region. So who needs the beautiful falling leafs of the Northeast, we have Ruby meetups. Amiright?
This week: hang with PhillyCHI over beers, meetup with Cocoa Heads and then play some local video games this weekend.
Tuesday, September 6th: If you’re the kind of person that can get annoyed over fonts, button placement and bad copy you’ll love the folks at PhillyCHI who are dedicated to discussing user experience issues. So if you know you will go crazy if you see Papyrus one more time, grab some cash and head on over to Time Restaurant in Center City for PhillyCHI’s social and buy your fellow designers a beer. Center City. 6 p.m. [INFO]
Thursday, September 9th: When Steve Jobs announced iTunes 10 on Monday, we like to think that app developers everywhere immediately sprang into action. How will the new store affect app makers? Are there any new strategies for getting that coveted “featured app” spot? Meet up with your fellow Cocoa programmers to chat about these issues and more at Indy Hall. Old City. 7 p.m. [INFO]
Saturday, September 11th: Ah, Philly IGDA. We remember seeing this group’s membership barely crack 15. Now, according to the meetup page, the group is well over 100 and this meetup will feature demos of local games. Ride the wave that is the Philadelphia video game development community and, please, make the next Starcraft 2 come out of Philly. Seriously, we’re tired of beating the Geekadelphia crew in the same game all the time. University City. 5 p.m. [INFO]
