Morning Philadelphia, we hope you enjoyed the first unofficial weekend of fall – and how couldn’t you?
The weather is nice, the Phillies are in first place and the Eagles… well, they’re still the Eagles. But Fall also means that we continue the uptick inour calendar’s tech events, forcing us to make some tough choices about our highlights.
This week’s lucky three: Philly.rb’s hack night, Social Media Day and the ALT.Net meetup.

Monday, September 13th: Philly.rb is hogging all of the event calendar fun this week with two events, but we’ll forgive’em. If you’re going to pick just one Ruby.rb event this week, we suggest the group’s hackday where they plan to submit fixes to the Ruby core. Why? “Because we rock hard,” the group’s site says. 6 p.m. Center City [INFO]
Tuesday, September 14th: Though former DreamIt Ventures company SCVNGR left town years ago for Boston, they’ll always be from Philly to us. Join in for Social Media Day when the Google Ventures portfolio company returns to the town of its creation. The company plans on launching SCVNGR rewards in Philadelphia while handing out swag and gift cards. 6 p.m. Center City [RSVP]
Wednesday, September 15th: We would recommend the ALT.net meetup group strictly based on the fact that it’s a much-needed .net meetup in this world of Ruby and other languages. But what makes our eyebrows raise at this one is that this one is being held at members Seth Soffer’s “way cool” house that was featured in Philly.com for how awesome it is. So if you go, it will be like watching Tech TV and the HGTV channel all at once. 6 p.m. Northern Liberties. [INFO]
