After taking a close look at our events calendar, it seems that this week is a coder’s dream. Whether your language of choice is Python, Ruby or the PHP Symfony framework, there’s a meetup for you.
On Tuesday get your Ruby on in Center City, then switch gears to Python the next day. Afterwards, close out your week at Indy Hall with the Cocoa Heads on Thursday.
Tuesday, October 12th: We hope you have a gym membership, because this week’s Philly.rb meetup will provide lots of pizza and beer. Come for the eats, but stay for the talk on the VCR project by Trevor Lalish-Menagh. We’d be lying if we said we knew what that was. 6:00 p.m. University CityINFO.
Wednesday, October 13th: We don’t know Python. But we read XKCD, and those guys think that language is the bee’s knees. So if we were going to this week’s Python meetup, we’d brush up on the popular internet comic for conversational purposes because snake jokes just don’t do the job. We tried that once, it didn’t go over well. 6:30 p.m. Conshohocken. INFO.
Thursday, October 14th: If you came to Switch you saw P’unk Ave’s Apostrophe – which runs on the PHP Symfony framework – at work. The P’unk Ave crew likes the framework so much, they are now hosting monthly meetups for other Symfony enthusiasts at their South Philly offices which are mere blocks from Pat’s and Geno’s. Just sayin’. 6:30 p.m. South Philly.
