It’s getting to be that time of year.
The weather is getting cooler, football season is underway and unconferences are sprouting up everywhere.
Before the year closes out, we’re due for the original BarCamp, FlashCamp, and BeerCamp. Kicking off the camps is the third annual Podcamp is happening at Temple University this weekend along with SearchCamp and Social Media Camp.
But first, head on up to the Franklin Mills mall to show the world that you always liked that PC guy in those Apple commercials. Join developers and IT-types as they gather to chat about all of the new features in Microsoft’s latest operating system, breakfast included.
Or, you can get suburban and attend the Main Line’s first ever Tweetup.
All events listed on the event calendar are free to attend. Be sure to check our complete calendar for more.
Monday, September 28th: I’m sure you have seen the guide to setting up your own Windows 7 party making its rounds around the Interwebz (see the video at the end of the post). Well imagine that, but at a Franklin Mills movie theater and instead of cake, there will be developers and talk of user interfaces. The event is split into two sections, the morning for developers and the afternoon for “IT professionals.” There’s also an event being held for Windows Server 2008. 7:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Franklin Mills Mall. RSVP. [view more events]
Wednesday, September 30th: Hot off the heels of the city’s Tweetup, Main Line social media heads are following suit. Those interested can meet up in Wayne to talk Twitter, Facebook and user generated content complete with drink specials. The host, marketing firm Team and a Dream, says they have invited local school officials and government PR people. Though we cant imagine many PR people using Twitter. No, not at all. 6:00 p.m. Main Line. INFO. [view more events]
Saturday, October 3rd -4th: Though its name may be deceiving, Podcamp is not entirely focused on podcasting. Boasting 131 signups, Podcamp Philly looks to fill Temple University’s Tuttleman Hall with folks looking to chat about all part of digital media. The event spans the weekend and even includes SearchCamp and Social Media Camp. If you are sitting in a session in room 207, be sure to look for the doodles I drew on the desk during Art History class my Senior year. 9 a.m. Temple University. RSVP. [view more events]
