Event Highlights for October 5-11, 2009

Our events calendar is still free, free free. But you know this, oh Philadelphia tech events wayfarer. You’ve never had to pay for the events that we list, and we like it that way.
The downfall of this philosophy is that when an interesting event pops up that costs cash, we can’t give as much attention to it as we’d like.
Take Innovation Philadelphia‘s Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit or some of the happenings in the two-week NXTUP Philly calendar (Look for our extended preview of NXTUP Philly later today).

Tuesday, October 6th: Philadelphia Standards Organization has been quiet lately, but they’re back with a bang. IT lawyer Frank Taney, shareholder of Center City law firm Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC will talk about safe contracting, protecting IP, and gettin’ that money… legally. 7:00 p.m. Center City. Wednesday, October 7th: Philly Startup Leaders‘ 4th installment of its Entrepreneurs Unplugged series features SEER Interactive’s Wil Sullivan this week. Sullivan will talk SEO and valuable customer service that has rocketed his business to the top of the industry. Thursday, October 8th: It’s a little off the norm that makes our highlights, but PhillyCHI‘s Tech and Design Quizzo sounds like a hoot. We’re serious about this one�if we get a real challenger, we’ll show up and school you on the tech side, anyway. Saturday, October 10th: Hacktory instructor Brad N. Litwin shows off eleven kinetic sculptures at Tyler School of Art‘s Kinetic Works: A Collection of Mechanical Conundra reception.
