When Technically Baltimore first visited the brand new Cynergy offices in Harbor East last month — the firm had recently expanded its D.C. office to offer a location closer to its dozen Baltimore-based employees — Michael Wolf, one of the interactive firm’s digital architects, was stoked.
His commute was shorter than ever. Living just north of Patterson Park, it was short enough that he could now bike or walk. The office—a converted warehouse, complete with gorgeous exposed brick and located on the Northern fringes of Little Italy—was modern, comfortable and inviting.
There’s one problem: the firm is only beginning to adjust to the work networks of Baltimore, and with a growing list a clients that includes Microsoft and other big brands, the need for more and more workers is evident. The company says its looking to expand its hiring pipeline across development, design and QA.

With universities like MICA, a growing intersection between product development shops and agencies that specialize in interactive/design, like Cynergy, and an exploding game development community, Baltimore is poised to be a highlight in the Mid-Atlantic region in regard to interactive and design talent development.
But the question remains: how can this growing sector show off to retain and grow local talent?
Technically Baltimore is excited to host a panel conversation about the topic at our FREE BmoreTech Meetup, happening next Tuesday evening. Click HERE to sign-up.
We’ve brought on other thought leaders to discuss, including MICA’s Dean of Professional and Continuing Studies David Gracyalny and Andy Mangold, co-founder of trailblazing agency (and community devotees) Friends of the Web.
If you’re looking for work or already embedded in the design and interactive community, we’re expecting a great conversation and casual networking.
Did we mention there will be free food and beer? Hope to see you there! Sign-up here.
