Code for America announced its 2013 partner cities yesterday, and while it may not be a surprise, we’ll point it out anyway: the national organization isn’t teaming up with Philly for a third year.

Philly has been an important city for Code for America: it was the only city to have fellows the program’s first two years, Mayor Michael Nutter delivered the keynote speech at the CFA Summit last night and Mark Headd, its former director of governmental relations (who is now our Chief Data Officer, as Nutter cheekily bragged last night, according to the Twitter of former fellow Aaron Ogle), was based here.

Philly city government also had a strong showing at the CFA Summit, with Story Bellows and Jeff Friedman representing the Mayor’s Office (and a new venture that’s still in stealth mode) and Adel Ebeid from the Office of Innovation and Technology.

Without a crew of local fellows, it’s now up to Philly’s CFA “brigade” to keep things going.

As the 2012 fellows wrap up their fellowship, check back here for a recap of what they’ve accomplished.
