CityBird: experiential wedding registry seeks $7500 [Crowdfunding]

Two women hope to change the way everyone thinks about wedding registries.

City Bird Registry is a two-woman startup that is aiming to change the way guests buy gifts for weddings. The idea for the company comes from the same spiritual space as HowAboutWe, the site that matches singles up on cool dates and plans the same for couples. Both sites operate from the assumption that experiences are more meaningful than things.

One of the experiences you can buy a couple is a tour of the Kings County Distillery.

City Bird Registry has been going for two years and has signed up about 100 couples so far, according to a new video it made for its IndieGogo campaign. The company seeks crowdfunding now in order to keep the work going.

The two women behind it, Micah Clasper-Torch and Nicole Truscinski, have been operating out of the Dumbo Startup Lab. They are seeking $7,500 and have raised $2500, as of this writing.
