Biotechnology company Circulomics “has been awarded two Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I awards, totaling $800,000 over 2 years, to develop its Ligo-miR microRNA assay technology and PicoSep single molecule analysis instrument,” reports CityBizList. The company, located near the Remington neighborhood, is a tech transfer spin-off from “a $14M Cancer Nanomedicine Center at Johns Hopkins to commercialize multiplexed assays for molecular and biomarker analysis,” according to Circulomics’ website.
Keimmie Booth, a member of Western High School‘s RoboDoves robotics team, is just one of many speaking at TEDxBaltimore at Morgan State University on Jan. 25. (As she tweeted.) Tickets are on sale now.
Baltimore TechBreakfast is happening tomorrow morning. Same place, same time, with different startups presenting, including EasyWeb Content, which Technically Baltimore has reported on. Also speaking (for 40 minutes) will be city CIO Chris Tonjes. Tonjes assumed the mantle of CIO in July, and has already spoken at a previous Baltimore TechBreakfast.
