If you’ve worked at a restaurant, coffee shop or other retailer, you might know ShopKeep.
The company behind a point-of-sale system boasts more than 18,000 customers, and while its Brooklyn ties are fading — now based in SoHo but founded in 2008 by Brooklyn retailer Jason Richelson — it’s worth tracking them here. Their latest Series D round of $60 million in funding has brought the company’s total outside capital raised to $92.7 million. It’s in part a hardware company, licensing its iPads in addition to software, which explains some of the late-stage funding.
