A southern law firm is expanding to Brooklyn, promising startups can get a “lawyer on speed dial” for one flat, annual fee. The service is called PUSHTOSTART from the Maucere Law Group, which currently has offices in Atlanta and Chattanooga.
Additionally the attorneys claim to be entrepreneurs themselves, who understand the startup life and issues.
A startup that gets into Maucere’s program can expect:
- Entity formation, new business filings, shareholder agreements, corporate compliance, bylaws, operating agreements, leases, IP, trademarks, employee agreements, licensing and tech agreements, contracts.
- The program does not include, however, litigation, regulatory compliance, equity deals or securities.
- The site promises to help make a startup attractive to investors from the start.
The new venture features dramatically different branding than its parent company. One is white collar, the other is tank tops and tattoos. Though the top post on the Maucere blog is about The Hobbit.
PUSHTOSTART is not the only new entrant seeking to offer startup tailored legal advice in the borough. It does appear to be the only one with bespoke tshirts though.
Interested clients must apply to join PUSHTOSTART.
