The Dumbo based team at Levin + Riegner designed the user interface for an app that launched earlier this month, and just got the Apple App Store nod from the editors as a “Best New App,” according to cofounder Alex Levin. The app is called Bond. It’s a gift giving app that also allows users to send hand written notes to friends and family.
Actually, robots write them, but they look good.

You can send a free note to anyone you want in the US now if you use the code FREENOTE. You don’t even need to know their address. As long as you have their email, the app will ask them for you (which is probably also a clever way to expand their promo list, but the developers have to eat, don’t they?). Once you’ve sent your free note, other notes will cost $5. Gifts vary in price.
Levin + Riegner are based in 20 Jay St, which we’ve photographed. They have five people in their organization, two of which worked on Bond.
If you don’t have an iPhone, you are out of luck for now, but the Dumbo crew helped plan out a website for a web store, which should open next month. As Levin told us, “For the website, we consulted with them on Product Development and are completing the User Experience, User Interface Design and a Front-End Developed Style Guide.”
