Baltimore’s newest incubator, Betamore, is scheduled to open in September. [Full disclosure: Betamore co-founder Mike Brenner is a partner of Technically Baltimore’s.] The space will occupy the top floor of the 1111 Light Street building in Federal Hill and will offer two tiers of membership, reports the Baltimore Sun.
A $200-a-month “community membership” is designed for the entrepreneur who only needs to use Betamore’s facilities periodically, say, a couple of times a week. Those members will be able to reserve space based on availability. On any day, Betamore will have room for 40 community members.
A “dedicated membership” will run $400 to $450 per month. For these members, Betamore sets aside a dedicated workstation that can be used 24/7. (Brenner noted that the cost of the inaugural round of memberships might be lower than the prices quoted here.) [more]
The Baltimore Sun story quotes Brenner saying Betamore will be “a gym for nerds.”
Betamore was co-founded by Greg Cangialosi, the CEO of Nucleus Ventures LLC and the founder of e-mail marketing company Blue Sky Factory, sold to WhatCounts in July 2011, and Sean Lane, founder of the Columbia-based BTS software solutions.
