Kickstarter of the Week is a new regular series highlighting the technology, creative and innovation Kickstarter campaigns in Baltimore that might be worth your support. See others here.
In the Baltimore Bike Party‘s estimation, no mass-ride of cyclists through the streets of Baltimore city is complete without music.
Probably techno-ish, electronica music that your friends who studied abroad in Europe have nightmares about, but music nonetheless.
There’s just one problem: the BBP, which organizes monthly critical mass-like cycling events, is now in need of a new trailer. According to its Kickstarter page, the music cart the BBP uses now is just that — a cart, serviceable enough for when the critical mass rides drew fewer than 100 riders. Today these monthly rides attract more than 100 cyclists, and Baltimore Bike Party needs $2,500 to construct a music trailer that’s bigger and badder.

Purchasing and outfitting the trailer will be outsourced, according to Baltimore Bike Party’s Kickstarter page. Race Pace Bicycles in Federal Hill will buy the trailer, and Poptronics will supply the audio equipment.
Assuming the BBP raises the money (and it looks as if it will), this new music trailer will be ready for the April 2013 ride.
