Mobile device accessories maker ZeroChroma has a new kit to help smartphone users go hands-free throughout the day.
Halo Effect has four separate mounts that are designed to be changed as activities and settings shift, said Brian Le Gette, CEO of the Port Covington–based company.
These include mounts for a tabletop, inside a car, a mount to stream or video chat from a vertical smooth surface and one that attaches to the upper or lower arm during running or riding.
“We wanted to better integrate the smart phone into everyone’s daily routine and do so by reducing hassle, and increasing productivity and smiles,” Le Gette told us via email. “These were the four mounts that achieved that goal.”
Le Gette said the product is about a year in the making after lots of prototypes. It’s unique in that it comes in a kit and puts four functions together.

The product launched Tuesday with a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. Early backers can also be the first to receive a kit.
“The campaign will back production, but the plastic injection molding and tooling setups are complete and the final pre-production product is tested and ready,” Le Gette said.
