Yet Analytics raised $1.3 million in seed funding, according to the company.
The funding round was led by Panther Angels, the Cockeysville-based firm led by cofounders of Astrum Solar. Members of the Baltimore Angels also invested $450,000 in the data analytics company, and Dingman Angels members also contributed. The round was also the first investment for the A-Level Capital venture fund, which is run by Johns Hopkins students.
The investment capital will help with hiring and execution, said CEO Shelly Blake-Plock.
Based at the Emerging Technology Centers’ Eastern Campus on 33rd Streeet, Yet’s data-driven training platform for companies is built on the Department of Defense-developed xAPI. The Yet Core standardizes job training data from various sources, which the company believes will have increasing value with the development of wearables, beacons, augmented reality and the Internet of Things.
Yet put Silicon Valley on notice by winning the Data Visionary Award from Nielsen at TechCrunch Disrupt earlier this fall. Closer to home, the startup was also among winners of the pitch competition at Beta City.
