This form is how we met Weebl, the McLean, Virginia-based maker of an app that allows users to create interactive polls and ask questions in creative ways.

The company was founded by local tech entrepreneurs Surendra Goel and Art Binder. Here’s what they told us about their app:

Weebl allows you to ask your friends anything with personalized short-form group polls called Weebls. Scared to ask? Go incognito to ask discreetly and anonymously.

Why is your startup idea interesting?

Weebl changes the way people ask their friends questions and receive answers. We enable users to turn their poll question into an interactive experience with friends by adding a photo/video and receiving responses in real-time with our SMS notifications, as well as push notifications. We’ve designed it so the recipients aren’t required to be Weebl users to respond. We’ve also implemented a cool feature called Incognito Mode that allows users to send those questions they may normally be scared to ask in a discreet and anonymous factor. It’s a unique, friendly, and convenient way to ask daily, topical, or important questions, and get targeted results immediately.

Why is your team interesting?

[We are] serial entrepreneurs who have launched many companies with successful exits and a track record of raising funding. Surendra Goel, cofounder and CEO, owns 17 registered patents and comes from a technology background with a focus on building scalable systems and complex problem solving. Most recently he cofounded Urgent.ly and led them to incredible heights as the CTO and chairman. This is where Art and Surendra began their entrepreneurial endeavors as they initially worked together through Art’s previous role as a technology consultant, supporting Urgent.ly’s Information Technology strategy. Both cofounders are immigrants of the United States, Art Binder hailing from Kiev, Ukraine, and Surendra Goel from Delhi, India.

What can your startup journey teach other founders?

Make sure that you respect, value and foster every professional relationship you encounter because you never know if that person could end up being your future business partner. Also, it’s critical that your partners/team members collectively counterbalance the key skills required to make your venture successful.
