Jenni Buckley, a popular associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Delaware, has been honored with a spot on the American Society for Engineering Education’s “20 Under 40” list of outstanding engineering educators under 40. As part of the honor, Buckley is featured in an article in the latest issue of ASEE Prism.

One of Buckley’s notable contributions to UD’s engineering program was attracting funding for the Design Studio, a makerspace for engineering students.

Buckley is also active in outreach efforts, with a focus on inclusion in STEM. UDaily’s Julie Stewart writes:

Buckley’s commitment to education extends beyond the classroom with outreach efforts, especially for underrepresented groups in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.

For one, she leads the College of Engineering’s undergraduate diversity working group, ramping up efforts to increase diversity among the student population. She is also a faculty advisor for the Mechanical Engineering Student Squad (MESS), a student group that aims to recruit, retrain, and advance mechanical engineers at UD and in the community.
