Uber is testing UberX in South Jersey, PhillyMag reported.
UberX is Uber’s lower-cost version that taps regular people and their own cars to act as a taxi service. It’s like Sidecar, the ridesharing service that the Philadelphia Parking Authority essentially shut down last summer.
UberX, however, will not be coming to Philadelphia.
“The city of Philadelphia has proven time and time again to be against innovation,” an Uber rep told PhillyMag.
