Uber and state regulators may be working out a deal

Uber has been known to strong arm its way into new territories, regardless of what regulations permit. Delaware is no different.
As the News Journal reported last month, executives from the transportation company have been meeting with state officials and lawmakers in Dover to flirt with the idea of drafting some legislation.
While those talks are happening, Uber is still operating somewhat illegally in the First State. Most noticeably, Uber has been poaching riders from cabbies around the Wilmington Amtrak station.
According to the News Journal, the Delaware Department of Transportation has no interest in taking legal action against Uber. Instead, they’re hoping to have an agreement signed by mid-May.
