TrendKite, Fig Labs: Two Philly-region companies chosen for DreamIt Ventures Austin inaugural class

DreamIt Ventures launched its inaugural Austin, Tex. class last month, and of out of nine participating startups, two are from the region, according to a Business Insider report.

The local startups include:

• TrendKite (Philadelphia): described as a “media dashboard reinventing media monitoring” and founded by Matt Allison, a Penn State grad who cofounded a Reading, Pa. startup called Xoobly, AJ Bruno and Patrick Brannen
• Fig Labs (Haddington, N.J.): described as a “cloud-based mathematical platform for engineers and scientists” and founded by recent Lafayette College graduate and Haddonfield native Brian Peacock

The participating startups will demo at this year’s SXSW.
