More than 23% of employees have left their jobs due to bad commutes, Robert Half reported.

To lower that statistic, Washington, D.C.-based TransitScreen is helping commuters make use of smart cities technology when traveling.

The public transportation tech startup launched a new tool on July 23 called CommuteExpert, which takes users through a short questionnaire and then tells them exactly which transit pass to purchase and how much money they could save yearly. All they need to do is calculate their monthly commuter costs to add in the questionnaire. CommuteExpert can also recommend more cost-efficient travel options.

The tool is active in 21 top markets for transit right now, which are listed on the CommuteExpert site and include Baltimore, Philadelphia and Boston. Don’t see your city? Let TransitScreen know.

The startup made the new tool announcement in a blog post, where it also made a call to action for employee transportation coordinators or those who work with onboarding and benefits at their companies. TransitScreen is also asking for companies to test CommuteExpert out with their coworkers. Companies can even request specific customizations to the tool.

This announcement comes a week after the tech startup announced the redesign of its website.

In a blog post, TransitScreen CEO Matt Caywood said the new site design focuses on experience by showing its visitors stories and quotes from people who have used TransitScreen products in their workplaces for successful outcomes. One of the quotes featured on the site: “TransitScreen was a great tool that really helped us bring it all together,” per Keith Wexelblatt, Reebok’s associate general counsel and local compliance officer.
