The Amplify Philly crew is starting to come together for 2019

The “Amplify Philly House” was a hit this year so it's making a comeback at SXSW 2019, happening March 8–17.

The gang behind Amplify Philly is starting to get ready for Philly’s yearly splash at South by Southwest (SXSW).

At the 2018 megaconference, a group of local orgs — REC Philly, Witty Gritty, Philly Startup Leaders — led a two-day Philly activation inside an Austin, Texas, bar that was transformed into the Ämplify Philly House. The formula was a hit, so the group is bringing the concept back for three days in 2019.

“Amplify Philly is making plans early so that Philly can show up in a bigger and more prominent way,” Witty Gritty founder Michelle Freeman said via email.

Highlights for the 2019 push will include the return of a lounge-style activation inside Austin’s Convention Center and pre/post events in Philly. To get a roll call going, the group is looking for RSVPs of Philly companies and people who are planning to attend the trade show.
