SXSW 2013 and SXSWedu: list of Baltimore attendees and #notatSXSW Happy Hour

 
This year’s South by Southwest interactive kicks off in Austin, Texas, on Friday.
We’ve compiled a list of SXSW attendees from the Baltimore region we know are going. But if we’ve missed you, drop us a note in the comments section below and we’ll update the list.

SXSW 2013 attendees:

• Damian Rintelmann from Weber Shandwick, a global communications and marketing firm with an office in Canton.
• Andrew Schuster and Coleman Anderson from NewsUp, an AccelerateBaltimore graduate and a mobile game for reading the news.
• Brendan Auvil from Millennial Media, the global mobile advertising company based in Canton.
• A team from Mindgrub Technologies‘ gaming division will be at the Gaming Expo. Technically Baltimore first reported on Mindgrub, a mobile product and web development agency based in Catonsville, in September.
• Greg Gershman, a software engineer and Presidential Innovation Fellow working on the MyUSA OAuth platform (what was originally called MyGOV).
• There’s also an open Facebook group for Baltimore’s SXSW attendees.
• Julie Lenzer Kirk, one of the co-organizers of the fall’s Pitch Across Maryland bus tour, is headed there with Startup America‘s contingent.
• Nick Miller, cofounder of Federal Hill-based startup Parking Panda.

SWSWedu 2013 attendees:

• Jennifer Gunner, chief operating officer of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore and a co-organizer of January’s TEDxBaltimore event.
• Kevin Tame, a co-creator of #EdPain, which Technically Baltimore reported on in August.
• Andrew Coy, co-executive director of the Digital Harbor Foundation.
• John Cammack, the chairman of EdTech startup Curiosityville.
• Richard Rasmus, founder of LessonPathways.com, which “helps in-home and classroom teachers to find, organize and plan to use the best free online educational materials.”
• Katie Palencsar, cofounder of AccelerateBaltimore graduate Unbound Concepts, whose BookLeveler app helps teachers score classroom reading materials so they ensure they’re assigning age-appropriate reading materials to their students.
• Katrina Stevens, cofounder of LessonCast, which designs professional development media for teachers and schools.
• Steph Grimes and Shawn Grimes, the minds behind Campfire Apps, are representing Digital Harbor Foundation’s STEM Engine program, which they oversee.
• Margaret Roth, the tech director at the Digital Harbor Foundation.

Also keep in mind: Lotfy Nathan‘s documentary about Balitmore dirt-bikers the 12 O’Clock Boys is one of the eight films premiering at SXSW as part of the festival’s Documentary Feature Competition.
