By analyzing more than 35 million Facebook users in the U.S. who have “liked” a page for one of the 32 NFL football teams, Facebook’s Data Science team was able to put together a comprehensive national map breaking down team loyalties by county.
As the playoffs progressed, the data science team created more maps depicting how fans of the remaining teams were distributed geographically across the U.S.
Its final map shows where in the country people will be rooting for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and where in these United States people will be sporting the purple and black in support of the Baltimore Ravens.
