This summer, five Philadelphia museums and art organizations are taking their collections to Instagram.
Every week, as part of a social media campaign called #SummerWithArt, each museum will post a photo of an object from their collection based on a theme, said Visit Philadelphia spokeswoman Chelsea Calhoun. It’s an effort to “showcase the city’s artistic and cultural treasures,” she wrote in an email. This week’s theme was Under the Sun.
The campaign was coordinated by tourism agency Visit Philadelphia and involves the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Penn Museum, the Barnes Foundation, the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
