State, city pump $375K more into microloan program [Startup Roundup]

Who’s getting funded?

E-commerce firm OpiaTalk raised $100,000 in debt, according to SEC filings. The startup, based out of the Federal Hill incubator Betamore, signed Skype as its first client in April.
Glen Burnie-based NovaSom raised $3 million in a debt offering, Citybizlist reports. The health firm makes an FDA-approved sleep apnea home testing device.
The state Department of Business and Economic Development granted $250,000 to the Baltimore Development Corporation to fund the city’s BaltimoreMICRO loan program, MDBIZ News reports. The city is contributing $125,000 in matching funds. The program has issued $285,000 in loans to 13 businesses since its 2012 inception.
