‘Star Wars Day’ returns to Delaware Children’s Museum

Forget Force Friday II. Star Wars Day at DCM is where it's at.

It’s Force Friday II, the giant shopping event that started at midnight, drawing Star Wars fans to Targets and Walmarts to be the first to get their hands on the newly-launched franchise toys.
Not gonna lie, some of the new toys, like the app-enabled BB-8 and R2D2 droids, are super cool and I want them. But if you have a family of Star Wars fans, the Force Friday hype can be a bit much, a commercialized “holiday” to the extreme.
Forget dragging the kids to the big crowded retailers. No Force Friday retail event will be as cool as seeing the 501st Legion First State Squad at the Delaware Children’s Museum. DCM’s Star Wars Day event is a family-friendly day of STEM-centered fun and cosplay where kids can “complete [their] Jedi training in the DCM’s sensory swamp, create [their] own alien species, travel in space, plus meet some of your favorite Star Wars characters.”
Entry for Star Wars Day at DCM is the regular $8.75 — that’s less than the price one talking porg toy for a family of four.
