The Cordish Companies formally announced that tech scene fixture Shervonne Cherry will be Community Manager at the new coworking space in Power Plant Live.
Cherry will be tasked with establishing a culture at Spark, and linking members with resources and networking opportunities, among other tasks.
She’s a familiar face on tech scene who previously worked as Creative and Social Strategy lead at Mindgrub Technologies, and most recently at DreamIt Health Baltimore. Along with the departure of director Jason Hardebeck to run the makerspace at City Garage, Cherry’s departure leaves a dearth of full-time staffers at the health-focused accelerator. (Could it be related to DreamIt’s new, more placeless model that sister site Technical.ly Philly reported on in September?)
Companies like Staq, Avhana Health, Tissue Analytics and FourV are already moved into the fourth floor of the Bernstein building in Power Plant Live. The coworking space is set to open on the third floor. A hard hat tour is planned to show progress on the space in early December.
