Wodify, a software maker in the fitness and gym management space, is ditching its South Jersey digs for a 10,000-square-foot office in the heart of Center City.
The company, which employs 30 staffers in the U.S. and another 45 in Portugal, has begun the move across the bridge, shifting from Cherry Hill, N.J., as its U.S. headquarters and sliding into 1100 Ludlow, the Market East development that’s steps away from Jefferson Station.
Founded in 2012, the bootstrapped company says its suite of gym management and performance tracking tools are currently in use by some 4,500 gyms in 80 countries, and cites yearly revenues north of $10 million.
“Philadelphia is a lively city where we know we can continue our philanthropic work, recruit top employees, and be surrounded by other innovative tech firms,” said CEO Ameet Shah, who grew up in Lancaster County.
(Another tech company to bet on Center City was Chicago-based Grubhub, which opened a new 15,000-square-foot hub on Cherry St. earlier this month. CTO Maria Belousova told us that access to talent was key to its decision to set up the local hub.)
Wodify is hosting an office-warming party next Friday featuring San Francisco 49ers President Al Guido. Expect more tech events at Wodify’s new digs, Shah said.
“We intentionally designed our new space to host large events, so we can serve as a hub for connecting the business and tech communities,” the CEO said in an emailed statement.
