From digital archive to the stage: theatre group adapts stories from South Asian American Digital Archive

This Friday, the South Asian American Digital Archive will come to life.

Unsung Theatre Company, a student group at University of the Arts, is taking stories from the Chinatown-based South Asian American Digital Archive and adapting them for the stage. Preview their work at the Asian Arts Initiative‘s Family Style Open Mic hosted by Samip Mallick, executive director of the archive.

The event, which features other South Asian performers, is on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 at the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street). Admission is $5 – $10.
