You know all about SEER Interactive‘s headquarters, the converted church aptly dubbed the “Search Church.” Now, meet the “Search Perch.”
The Northern Liberties-based SEO shop opened “an overflow office” earlier this summer, says COO Larry Waddell, because the company had outgrown the Church‘s limited desk space.
SEER Interactive has grown to almost 50 employees, up from 41 in April, Waddell says. Some employees work out of the new office, which is actually SEER’s old headquarters in the Piazza, while the rest of the company still works out of the Church. Waddell says the design is flexible: employees can choose where they want to work on any given day. Company leadership works at the Church but holds weekly meetings at the Perch, Waddell says. CEO Wil Reynolds splits his time between both offices.
Other than being purely practical, the new spot is also a way to test out running a remote office. Opening an office in another city is a possibility, Waddell says. While these two spots should carry the company through 2012, Waddell says that ideally, the company — the Philly subset, at least — will all be under one roof.
And yes, SEER is very serious about naming its offices. Waddell says the office took a vote and chose Search Perch for the spot, located on the fourth floor of the Rialto building at the Piazza. It even offers a view of the Church.
