SEED SPOT, the social impact incubator, recently announced two key hires to lead its second Impact Accelerator program in D.C.
Kelly O’Malley, a prominent #dctech leader and the Mid-Atlantic regional director of The Vinetta Project, will join the SEED SPOT team as the Impact Accelerator program lead. O’Malley is an entrepreneur herself, she previously cofounded Shop Or Not, a 1776-born startup that would send its users pictures and small descriptions of food from small businesses via text. She also ran strategy at fitness startup Fit Girls Guide.
“I look forward to supporting the Impact Accelerator ventures to grow their real solutions and make a greater impact by equipping them with resources, potential customers, mentors, and access to experts,” O’Malley said in a statement. “I will push each entrepreneur to scale their company faster and sustainably for long-term success, and leverage my network and experience to make that happen.”
S. Lovey Parker is joining the SEED SPOT team as the Impact Accelerator program associate, bringing more than 16 years of experience working with corporations and growing business owners to increase capacity for value-enhancing partnerships, a press release states. Parker has previously coordinated corporate event programming for Bank of America, CitiGroup, Black Enterprise and Oprah’s O Magazine.
“I intend to support SEED SPOT in elevating the entrepreneurial landscape when it comes to founders developing intentional social equity. This means sharing fresh perspectives on collaboration evaluation, proactive relationship engagement and developing deeply-valued partnerships,” Parker said in a statement.
The pair will work together to guide 11 entrepreneurs through SEED SPOT’s eight-week program geared toward helping early-stage entrepreneurs scale their social impact business ventures. The accelerator meets twice weekly where founders will learn about high-growth business models, creating a winning team, crafting strong go-to-market strategies, modeling financial models and nurturing investor relationships.
You can meet O’Malley, Parker and the 11 entrepreneurs participating in the accelerator at the SEED SPOT Impact Accelerator Kickoff Event on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Booz Allen Hamilton’s Innovation Center.
