The University City Science Center was again awarded an international designation that honors the center’s incubator and its success in bringing out-of-market companies into the region, according to a release.

The Science Center shares this distinction of being a National Business Incubation Association’s Soft Landings International Incubator with 23 other incubators across the globe.

One of these out-of-market companies was Russian wind power company Optiflame, which opened an office in the Science Center’s incubator last summer. The Science Center has also been hosting a three-to-six-month accelerator for Canadian health IT startups. The accelerator aims to get the startups to open Philadelphia offices.
