Sure, it’s always nice to get compliments on your startup, but the most important feedback is the critical kind.
That was one of the pieces of advice Guru CEO Rick Nucci offered at the first Philly Startup Leaders Bootcamp session.
“Try to orient yourself so people will give you critical feedback. That’s the only way to get better at what you’re doing,” Nucci told the crowd, according to a recap of the event by Simplpost. Nucci sold his company, Boomi, to Dell in 2010.
Philly Startup Leaders Bootcamp, which aims to get participants from idea to startup in 90 days, kicked off last week. The free program “sold” out and is hosting 75 students, said organizer Adam Kearney.
Female participants make up 31 percent of the bootcamp, Kearney said, which is “shy of our 50 percent goal but is a huge upgrade from the 3.5 percent in the [PSL] accelerator.”
Read a recap of Nucci’s talk here, where he talks about pricing Boomi’s product too low, what the original Boomi team was lacking and how he keeps Guru’s “secret sauce” a secret.
