The Baltimore Ravens have a giveway for Sunday’s season opener that will provide fans some knowledge about their mind and body.
Through a partnership with Boston-based biotech firm Orig3n, fans who attend the Sept. 17 game against the Cleveland Browns will get a free DNA test. The idea is to allow fans to learn more about their genetic makeup.
The sample tests four genes. The company’s DNA tests involve taking a swab of the cheek.

Additionally, the game has been dubbed “DNA Day” at M&T Bank Stadium, and it’s a milestone for the company.
“This is the first time that DNA tests are being distributed to fans at a football stadium and we believe this is an incredible opportunity to reach many people at once,” Robin Y. Smith, CEO of Orig3n, said in a statement.
It’s part of a partnership between the Ravens and Orig3n that’s designed to get more health information to the public. The company will be outside the stadium offering tests for the entire season, and has a multi-year agreement with the team.
“Ravens DNA Day is certainly one of the most innovative events a partner has ever spearheaded,” said Kevin Rochlitz, senior vice president of corporate sales and business development for the Ravens. “We are eager to start off the season with such a cutting-edge community event and we look forward to the future of our partnership with Orig3n.”
