PromptWorks is in expansion mode. The dev shop has sent software engineer Dustin Ingram to set up an office in Austin, Texas.
Why Austin, you ask?
“We chose Austin because, much like Philly, it is an up-and-coming hotbed of technological innovation,” PromptWorks wrote in a blog post this week. “A number of prominent online companies such as HomeAway, Indeed, LegalZoom, and Box have substantial software teams in the city. The startup scene is thriving and tech talent is abundant thanks to three fleagship universities and Austin’s high marks for affordability and quality-of-life.”

Company reps say being in Texas puts PromptWorks closer to existing clients around the country. For now, the office is a one-man operation, though Ingram will be looking to hire developers there. PromptWorks currently has 22 staffers in Philly, according to spokesman Pat Woods.
“I’m excited to take everything I love about PromptWorks and bring it to Austin,” Ingram tells Technical.ly. “Being able to expand our business to include building custom software in Austin is a great opportunity for both myself, for PromptWorks, and hopefully for the Austin tech community as well.”
Happy trails! (Can we crash on your couch during SXSW?)
