A pair of realList 2017 honorees made hiring moves since our most recent check-in.
Protenus made a hire that’s key to bringing on more team members. The startup which specializes in cybersecurity for healthcare systems hired Megan Emhoff as VP of People Operations.
Emhoff previously worked as Director of People Operations at Curiosity Media in Arlington, Va. She also led international recruitment for the nonprofit TechnoServe and was on the leadership team of medical staffing company Catalyst.
The University of Maryland-College Park alumna enters Protenus as it seeks to grow. The company added $3 million to its Series A in June, and now has a team of 33 people. Look out for more hiring.
“Our team is growing quickly which brings incredible opportunities for us to add talent in sales, customer support, and engineering. I’m passionate about attracting, retaining, and developing the very best people who can fuel the company’s growth,” Emhoff said in a statement.

Walther-Puri previously founded Presearch Strategy, a New York firm that applied analytics to areas such as political risk, cybersecurity and intelligence.
Terbium Labs understands that data has intrinsic value and I’m excited to join a team that is doing something to help people and organizations reduce their risk of inevitable data exposure,” said Walther-Puri.
He will join a C-suite that also includes Claire Gollnick, who was promoted to CTO earlier this year.
