Steep Hill, a medical cannabis testing and analytics firm, named Andrew Rosenstein as interim CEO following the retirement of Jmîchaeĺe Keller.
Rosenstein became CEO of Steep Hill Maryland when the Berkeley, Calif.–based company launched locally in 2016. That lab, located in Columbia, aims to complete its accreditation process by the end of the month, according to Steep Hill. Rosenstein has since also become CEO of the company’s operations in D.C. and Pennsylvania. He also serves as director of University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.
Steep Hill operates services to measure safety and purity of cannabis for distributors and producers of medical cannabis in 10 states and a total of nine countries. Along with the CEO transition, the company also said investor Merida Capital Partners increased its stake in the company. Terms were not disclosed.

Mt. Washington–based CreditXpert, which offers software tools to help mortgage professionals analyze and manage credit, announced two director-level hires last week.
Shesha Pancholi joined the company as Director of Product Management to lead product strategy and execution. She previously worked at Baltimore-based Laureate International Universities as Director of Product Management and global head of mobile, and previously held product management roles at AOL and Neustar.
Sasha Blanton was hired as Director of User Experience. He will lead the company’s overall UX strategy. Blanton, who received an MFA at Towson University, previously held a similar role at Envolve Innovation Labs and was part of a design team at K12 Inc.
“Sasha is one of the rock stars joining the CreditXpert team this year who will help us take our successful software business to the next level,” CreditXpert Managing Director Dave Chung said in a statement. “Our flat organizational structure, which allows all employees to make a true impact, combined with our standard-setting compensation and benefits package and the flexibility to balance life and career creates an outstanding work environment.”

In April, Inner Harbor–based digital marketing agency R2i brought on Kelly Kennedy as Chief Sales Officer. Kennedy, who previously had sales leadership roles at Yes Lifecycle Marketing, Merkle and Jigsaw, has since doubled the size of the business development team and hired three new VP-level leaders nationally. They include:
- Kurt Bradshaw, based in Baltimore, will focus on expanding the agency’s client base in the mid-Atlantic. He joined form Virtusa.
- Bill Carino will lead the agency’s effort in the northeast, joining from 89 Degrees.
- Steven DeLoye, who worked on growing revenue for Microsoft Power BI, will lead efforts in the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest.

eOriginal is continuing to fill out its leadership team, this month naming Matthew Shaw as general counsel. The attorney will lead the Camden Yards–based company’s legal team through “its next phase of growth,” according to a statement.
Shaw last worked as Deputy General Counsel InterDigital, as well as previous legal and policy roles at TheStreet and Time Warner Cable.
The transaction management company raised $26.5 million in late 2016, and last year brought on Brian Maddocks as CEO.
