Here’s who’ll be running Center City coworking space Pipeline Philly

A Miami transplant who used to work in finance and the Philly guy who organizes Bloktoberfest.

The team behind Pipeline, the giant coworking space that’s opening in Center City in December, announced its leadership team late last week.

Gregory Stott, an early member of Pipeline’s flagship in Miami, will be general manager, and Josh Dubin, the former executive director of Franklin’s Paine Skatepark Fund, will be the director of events. Creative marketer Tayyib Smith, who was involved in connecting the real estate developer and Pipeline, has helped with the launch and early community development.

Stott, whose background is in finance, will relocate from Miami. Most recently, he was the CFO of a design firm. Dubin has deeper Philly ties. The Penn grad used to work in city government and organizes the popular Bloktoberfest street festival. He’ll be developing educational programming and special events, according to the release.

Pipeline is shaping up to be a more buttoned up, high-end coworking space, with its location (the 15th and 16 floors of a skyscraper with a dramatic view of City Hall), its local real estate developer (David Grasso, who runs a number of waterfront condos on the Delaware River in Northern Liberties) and its size. These hires fit that mold, too.

It’s also interesting that Pipeline is hiring someone to run events, suggesting that it’s a large part of its business model.
