Of the 23 speakers at Philly Mag’s ThinkFest conference, about just under half are talking about tech.
(What does that mean? For one, innovation is hot. Everyone’s scrambling to brand themselves as innovators. Look at how corporations like United Healthcare and Comcast are sponsoring the event and choosing to showcase their heads of innovation. It also points to the growing presence and hunger for tech in the Philly area.)
Here’s which Philly technologists will take the stage on Nov. 5:

  • Brigitte Daniel, Wilco Electronic Systems on “The Business of Diversity: The Hidden Secret to Supercharging Philly’s Tech Scene”
  • Sam Schwartz, Comcast on “Made in Philadelphia: How the City of Firsts Continues to Innovate”
  • Ben Kehl and Chris Finlay, United Healthcare on “Designing for Care: Transforming How Health Care Services Are Delivered”
  • Emma Fried-Cassorla of Philly Love Notes, Conrad Benner of Streets Dept. and videographer Cory Popp on “Philly’s Digital Storytellers: Impact and Engagement for a New Generation”

Plus: Gov. Tom Wolf is going to talk about innovation in city schools, jobs and the economy, and Penn grad Neil Blumenthal, cofounder and co-CEO of Warby Parker, will be in from New York City to share “tales from a successful startup.”
The all-day event is at Drexel’s Lebow College of Business.
