On the Market: 22 open Philly tech jobs from the Art Museum, RevZilla and more

Lead projects at Life.io, help RevZilla with their marketing efforts or manage an environmental group's digital presence.

Our previous On the Market column was actually triggered by this interesting reflection from RJMetrics founder (and now Magento Head of Analytics) Bob Moore: when he saw himself competing with Philadelphia Gas Works for devs. Tech talent is needed everywhere — not just tech startups, and the job market, as well as our jobs board, reflects this.

Take this open spot for a web developer at the Philadelphia Art Museum, for example. The institution is looking for a dev with five years of experience to optimize the Museum’s online digital environment and system architecture. The developer would serve as the museum’s primary advisor on all things web and software-related. Also on the museum’s shopping list: an interactive designer to help shape the org’s look.

Speaking of museums getting techie with it (sorry), remember when The Barnes Foundation got Brooklyn technologist Shelley Bernstein to move to Philly and head up the intersection of tech and arts? It may just be time for an update.

This one came to us via Facebook: “Want to work for change? PennEnvironment is hiring a Digital Organizer to manage our online campaigns to protect our clean air, fight climate change, and more.” The environmentalists are seeking a Philly or Pittsburgh-based organizer to head their social media presence and organize 2.0 campaigns.

Workplace wellness company Life.io (which you may remember as Lifevest Health if you’re OG enough) is on the hunt for a project manager who can help the company streamline their onboarding process for clients. The health IT company, which has venture backing from Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Rittenhouse Ventures, works with insurers and employers to motivate and reward employes to make better lifestyle choices.

Interesting requirement for the job: applicants have to be proficient in Spanish because they’ll need to interact with Spanish-speaking clients. ¡Muy bien!

Just to update: cofounder Matt Kull is still at the RevZilla helm as interim CEO following the departure of cofounder Anthony Bucci last month. A nationwide search for the right CEO for the bike gear-focused ecommerce site is underway. Meanwhile, per Kull’s LinkedIn profile (and our jobs board), the company is hiring: more specifically leadership roles like senior manager for digital marketing, a senior manager for digital product design and a senior web analyst, as well as a a full stack developer.

Speaking of RevZilla, the company will be at our own tech job fair, NET/WORK Philly, along with 51 other companies seeking to hire. They’ll all be setting up shop at the Fillmore on Tuesday, Feb. 7. (Plus, we’ll find out who’s taking home NET/WORK Awards. The competition for Best Philly Tech Twitter Account is thrillingVote here if you haven’t already.)

Tickets are $10 or $5 for happy hour.
